Career Development Program
The Career Development Program aims
to prepare every candidate from the resume writing stage until they are
hired into a paid position at a studio, production company, pre- or
post-production house, new media developer, and other entertainment
industry employers. This program is broken down into two sub-categories of Production and Non-production.
Production
Career Development Program- In providing critical services to underserved individuals who are trying to break into the economic
mainstream of Los Angeles’
society, Workplace Hollywood collaborates with Hollywood Cinema Production
Resources in offering vocational and career development training, incorporating
a broad based life skills and soft skills curriculum. The
industry-specific training is offered to individuals interested in entry-level positions
in the crafts and technical areas of film and television production. The skill
sets learned are universally applicable, providing a strong foundation for
economic independence.

Non-Production
Career Development Program - We hear from candidates all the time about the
challenges of finding employment in the entertainment industry. Workplace
Hollywood assists
qualified
diverse individuals
to get the knowledge and access they need to successfully
compete for career opportunities in the industry. We provide one-on-one and
group career coaching to help individuals navigate their career paths in the
industry. Staff critiques resumes, shares job search strategies, and provides
networking techniques and interviewing skills. As a resource, we refer
candidates to opportunities in the industry as we become aware of them.
